Location

Salzburg Fortress - Salzburgs landmark - located in the heart of the Old City behind the cathedral. You can walk up to the Fortress or take the funicular railway, which takes you directly into it, and immediately brings you to the restaurant.

Directions by car

From A1 / A10 Villach and Munich A8

Take the exit for the airport and drive into town along the ‘Innsbrucker Bundesstrasse’. At the junction of the ‘Innsbrucker Bundestrasse’ and ‘Neutorstrasse’  turn right and follow the road all the way in the direction of ‘Zentrum’ (Centre). After about 2 km you reach the Neutor (Sigmundstor), directly before the Neutor you can turn right into the old town garage for parking. In the garage you will find signposts directing you up to the Fortress (Festung Hohensalzburg).
