Boat trip in Salzburg — explore Salzburg from the river

From the end of March to late Octo­ber, expe­ri­ence a first class jour­ney onboard the panorama boat “Amadeus Salzburg”, you will mar­vel at the city of Mozart from the river.

In for­mer times, salt (salz in Ger­man) was trans­ported by boat along the river to the city which is how the River Salzach got its name. At this time, there was a need for a pas­sen­ger ship along the Salzach. This was a prob­lem in 1891 how­ever, because of the shal­low water and the engines were not pow­er­ful enough. More than a cen­tury later, and since 2002, it is now pos­si­ble to cruise along the river. The “Amadeus Salzburg” is a mod­ern ship with seats for up to 80 pas­sen­gers. The unique design with large win­dows allow for a mag­nif­i­cent panoramic view. The ships hull is con­structed from aluminum-​alloy and Kevlar and is only 38cm deep. The twin diesel engines pro­duce 800 Hp and accel­er­ate the ship up to 50 kmh.

The Salzach river­boat offers you a range of tours to choose from.
